- Mexicannes:
Mexicannes is the product of a partnership between GIFF and Cinefondation –created by the Cannes Film Festival– And the Mexicannes Summer Residency Program in Guanajuato, Mexico. Besides offering workshops and consultations to a dozen new filmmakers, GIFF offers a space where the public can see the outcomes of some of these projects. This Monday, don’t miss our presentation of short films at the Santa Ana Theater at 6:00 pm sharp.
- Oscar´s night
Anyone who is a cinephile at heart is familiar with the Oscars and how important they are within world cinema. Every year, this ceremony ends with an awards season and within it the best of current cinema is recognized. Throughout the Oscars’ Night screenings you can see some films that were nominated in the Best Short categories at some point. This Monday July 20 don’t miss out first Oscars Night shorts screening at 4:00 pm at the Miguel Malo Theater within Bellas Artes.
- Short Films by women: Turkey
Our Guest Country of Honor has brough the biggest talent it has to GIFF. As a special showing for all of these Turkish women filmmakers that have travelled half the world to attend GIFF, we pay tribute to them with a screening within our event: “Women in Film and Television). Presenting five short films, these Turkish directors being to Mexico their stories, characters and scenarios that promise to leave the spectator amazed and wanting to know this beautiful country that is Turkey This will take place at Bellas Artes at noon.
