The Guanajuato International Film Festival once again offers the spaces that generate special attention among filmmakers: the Bilateral Forum, which seeks to strengthen the bonds that unite the film industries of Mexico and Lebanon, GIFF’s Spotlight Country this year.
The Bilateral Forum will feature authorities from the Mexican Film Industry. GIFF and IMCINE have sought spaces for decentralization and creation for Mexican filmmakers for more than a decade. This year we have with us representatives from the Liban Cinema Foundation, which seeks to promote competition in Lebanese cinema, establishing that country as a prominent location for international filmmaking.
Both nations bring along their respective nation’s precedents and seek to promote a collaborative relationship through exchange of ideas and new policies to create public and private funds, as well as arrangements that facilitate professionalization, opportunities for financing, co-production and distribution.
