From September 18-27, you can enjoy the Official Selections of GIFF 2020 online. Of the 170 titles that make up the 2020 edition of the festival, a total of 137 will be available for streaming, limited to 1000 tickets per film.
You can watch the movies directly from giff.mx/online on different devices (cell phone, tablet, computer) with Internet access in Mexico.
What’s the cost?
All GIFF 2020 programming is available free of charge for our audiences.
At what times will I be able to watch films?
You can watch films anytime during the festival dates (September 18-27). New titles will be launched daily at 00:00hrs via giff.mx/online. Remember that all films are available with a limit of 1,000 tickets.
How can I check which movies are available to watch right now?

How do I know when the film I want to see will be available?
If you’re searching for a particular title you can do so HERE.
Do I have to create an account?
Yes. When you select a movie for the first time, you will be asked to submit your name, email, and password.
How can I activate the subtitles?
All films in the selection are subtitled in Spanish and/ or English. After starting the film, you can choose the subtitles by clicking “CC” in the lower right corner of the screen. If you’re using a tablet, the settings may not appear in full screen mode. Exit full screen mode to click the “CC” button.
How can I resume watching a film that I started earlier?
To continue watching a film, access your library by clicking “Login” and then “Mi biblioteca” From the first time you press play, you have 24 hours to finish watching it.
Why is a certain film not available?
Films will be launched on specific dates during the festival and are limited to 1,000 tickets. Make sure the film you chose has already been released. Once a movie has reached its limit of available tickets it appears as SOLD OUT.
Will all films in the GIFF 2020 program be available online?
No. Some films will only have in person screenings during the event. This is the case for the following titles: Wendy, Danyka, School of Fear, A costume for Nicolas, Sin Orígen, Twin Peaks, Eraserhead, The dove and the wolf, Nimic, Learning to Skateboard in a Warzone, The Monster of the Black Lagoon, The Monster Ship, Dinner in America, Ainu Mosir, Los Lobos, Ninosca, Things We Don’t Do, The Flowers of the Night, Silencio Radio, La Mami, No Man’s Land.
Can films in the GIFF online program be watched from outside of Mexico?
No. The GIFF 2020 online program is only available within Mexican territory.
I’m having technical problems while watching the films, how do I fix them?
Here are some basic steps to follow if you are having trouble watching a film:
Restart your computer.
Make sure your browser is up to date.
Make sure nothing on the computer is using too much network bandwidth or CPU; for example, a download in progress.
If you are on Windows or Mac, try switching browsers.
Turn off the ad blocker.
If the movie pauses, stand near your modem.
Try logging out of your account and log in again.
