
GIFF IN THE CANNES FILM FESTIVAL
The presence of the Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF) in various activities at the Cannes Film Festival helps strengthen the existing relationship between the two organizations, while enabling us to provide excellent opportunities for the promotion for Mexican artists.
GUANAJUATO IFF PRESENTS: BEST MEXICAN SHORTS
GIFF once again has a presence in the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival. GIFF will host a Happy Hour in the Short Film Corner, an industry networking event with over 400 attendees, where we invite directors, producers and distributors to meet each other and get to know GIFF. With the goal of promoting the presence and distribution of Mexican short film throughout the world, the following ten films have been selected as part of this program:

The Cannes Film Festival, by far the best in the world, is a meeting point where we strengthen and achieve new partnerships with film institutions from around the world for the benefit of everyone who participates in GIFF.
One of the main activities is our Networking Lunch with the goal of consolidating existing collaborations and seeking new opportunities. Attendees include: Cannes Cinefondation, Torino Film Lab, Marche du Film, Cinemart Rotterdam Lab, Medienboard, Sundance Institute, World Cinema Fund, PROIMAGENES Colombia, Paris Projects, to name a few.
MexiCannes
GIFF will meet in Cannes with the 12 selected filmmakers of the Cinefondation La Residence who will participate in the sixth edition MexiCannes Summer Residence Program this July. These talented filmmakers from around the world will be the guests of GIFF and have the opportunity to present their projects to international producers, investors and diverse film financing institutions during GIFF’s International Pitching Market. The laureates are also invited to participate in workshops and private Master’s Classes with acclaimed national and international luminaries of film.
