Kids in Action:
Children have stories to tell and this is why the Guanajuato International Film Festival offers a space to give the smallest ones a taste of cinema and what can be done with a camera. This is why we have our Kids in Action program, where kids will enjoy walking down a Red Carpet before a screening of Elephant the Horse, which will screen at Teatro Ángela Peralta in San Miguel de Allende on Friday July 22nd at 12:00 pm and once again at Teatro Juárez in Guanajuato City on Thursday July 28th at 12:00 pm. We also present a selection of short films, the first of which will screen at Cinemex Plaza La Luciérnaga on Sunday July 24th at 12:00 pm and at Cinemex Plaza Pozuelos on Saturday July 30th at 12:00 pm. The second program will screen in the same locations, at La Luciérnaga on Monday July 25th at 12:00 pm and at Plaza Pozuelos on Friday July 29th at 12:00 pm.

Midnight Madness:
For those pleasure that awaken when the work day is done and one is at home with their partner (or alone, we don’t discriminate those who don’t have someone), the Guanajuato International Film Festival presents a collection of erotic short films, including a section on diversity. The first of these programs will be screened at Geek & Coffee (where you can fix your computer and have a cup of coffee) at San Miguel Allende’s Aurora on Saturday July 23rd at 11:00 pm. The second program will be screened at the Tunnels of Guanajuato City on Thursday July 28th at 11:00 pm.

Movies with Mummy:
For those who enjoy horror films, GIFF presents our segment in the Municipal Cemeteries of San Miguel Allende and Guanajuato City, so you can hang out with the departed (in and out of the screen). Don’t worry, they won’t bother you (just be warned, they’re the ones who scream the loudest at the scary parts). So relax, enjoy the dark in the most comfortable coffin you can find (the inhabitants are very welcoming, though they do like to snuggle) and enjoy out selection of films to watch with those who have left.
To celebrate Japanese horror cinema, the selection will include Tetsuo, which will screen at the San Miguel de Allende Municipal Cemetery on Sunday July 24th at 8:00 pm and at Guanajuato City’s cemetery on Friday July 29th at the same time, alon with the short film Twins. On Monday the 25th and Saturday the 30th of July at 12:30 am we present Ringu (which was remade in the US as The Ring) and in San Miguel Allende we present Over Your Dead Body on Friday the 22nd at 11:00 pm and House on Saturday the 23rd at 1:00 am.
Don’t forget that these events are free of charge and open to all audiences, so be sure to arrive early to reserve seating.
More cinema please!
