- Black Dog, Red Dog. (2015)
What began as an anthology of film adaptations of the poems of Stephen Dobyns, thanks to the combination of James Franco as director-in-chief, turned into a feature film that shows the life and work of said writer. Every short was edited in a way that it follows a linear continuity that shows Dobyns’ work from his tender childhood , going through all the romances that inspired his work up to his adult life. To make this project, James Franco collaborated with 9 young filmmakers who made their short films almost individually, keeping each stlye practically intact.

Last year’s tribute, Anton Corbijn, brings his new film as a Guest Feature. Life tells the story of the friendship between Dennis Stock, a photographer for Magnum, and actor James Dean. Starring Robert Pattinson and Dane Dehaan, the film focuses on a photo shoot that Stock did in 1955 for Life Magazine and the events that changed the course of both of these artists’ lives. This work, which besides putting these in a photographic journey through Los Angeles and New York and would even prolong to Indiana, changed Stock’s life and gave the world some of the most iconic images of the era.
