The Guanajuato International Film Festival is honored to be hosting the world premiere of Rafa Lara’s most recent film, a romantic comedy that explores the relationship between a Mexican woman whose appearance strays from what people might call “beauty” and her exboss, a typical aristocratic playboy used to seducing these women that most would label as “beautiful”.
Attending this screening will be the film’s director Rafa Lara along with cast members Ximena Ayala, Vadhir Derbez, Mara Escalante and Eugenio Derbez, who will introduce the film to the first audience ever to see it. These celebrities will walk the Red Carpet on the steps of the Juárez Theater in Guanajuato City at 18:00 hrs.
Rafa Lara studied cinema in several institutions in Mexico, Cuba and New York and has directed audiovisual content for different countries. His television successes include Al filo de la ley (2005) and his successes in cinema include La Milagrosa (2008), El quinto mandamiento (2011), Labios Rojos (2011) and Cinco de Mayo: La Batalla (2013), showing an ease with jumping genres and tones from film to film.
