After the protocol act during the official inauguration of the second stage of the Guanajuato International Film Festival, we will have director Marcelo Martinessi, filmmaker of Las Herederas, the film that will honor our inaugural gala 21:00 hrs at the Juárez Theater.
Las Herederas belong to the Official Selection of International Features and it tells the story of two women, Chela y Chiquita. Both are descendants of wealthy families in Asunción, PAraguay, and despite being very close for more than 30 years, their financial situation has worsened recently they must now auction off their legacies.
He studied Communication at the Catholic University of Asunción and Cinema at the London Film School. His short films have been shown at the Berlinale, Clermont Ferrand, Kinoforum among other festivals. He was executive director of the first public television station in Paraguay from the beginning of the project in 2010 until the coup d’état of June 2012. HisLa Voz Perdida won Best Short Film at the Venice Film Festival in 2016.
