During the 21st edition of the Guanajuato International Film Festival, one of its main components, the GIFF Incubator program, one of the most important platforms for Mexico’s young filmmakers, will take place. This space offers aid for film projects from their first outline to the last phases, remaining faithful to the restless and avid spirit of cinema that defines the Festival.
This encounter among a new generation of filmmakers, international producers, distributors, institutions that support filmmaking, as well as financing and investment funds, looks to be in continuous renovation and to adapt to a film industry that is constantly transforming, projecting its potential as a world-class investment option.
For this edition of the Festival, the selected projects are divided in three sections: projects in development, in production and financing and Work in Progress. The participants in any of these stages will have private consultations with industry professionals on topics such as screenwriting, pitching, financing strategies, production consultations, international co-production strategies, post-production, market and festival distribution strategies among other topics.
The Incubator prizes include EFICINE stimuli to finance a feature film, prizes in service of post-production in audio or video, filming insurance, renting filming space, sets and locations.
Incubator happens during the days of the Festival with several workshops and conferences, placing GIFF as one of the most relevant scenes from all over the country dedicated to promoting the artistic and professional development of local filmmakers.
