The Guanajuato International Film Festival finished its special Music + Films program yesterday with Los Fibos and Modern Vice.
The mix of reggae, hip-hop and blues of Los Fibos filled the esplanade of the Alhóndiga de Granaditas and prepared the scene for the arrival of Modern Vice, a group that distinguishes itself for it creative use of phasers, reverbs, chorus and distorters. This band has played with international bands such as Devendra, Banhart, Jessy Lanza and Holy Wave, delighted the auditorium with its fusion of melodies that go from psychedelia to grunge.
The historical location had received Lebanese singer Aziza the previous night and her music she calls Tarapop. This sound brought from Lebanon, our Spotlight Country, is a mix of traditional Lebanese music and pop.
Later on, MUVA begun its spectacle, keeping up the celebration until morning with a fusion of visual and performance art and a unique sound. Iconic elements of classical music, rock, Pre-Hispanic percussions and Japanese flutes were heard all night.
This is how this multi-sensorial experience of Music + Films that GIFF offered through ten days in two Human Heritage cities, was lived.
