[eltdf_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]T[/eltdf_dropcaps]hanks you to everyone who attended the first of five free concerts that GIFF has brought to you as part of the Music + Cinema program during this ten-day celebration of its 20-year history. There is no doubt that the festive atmosphere in San Miguel de Allende is the most attractive stamp on these events at the Main Garden that began to fill up early.
Even though the sun made its presence felt all day in a truce with the rains, the weather freshened up as the afternoon fell, and so the festival went on without a hitch in the best possible weather conditions. The streets surrounding the Garden were already full when the music started up and the typical hustle and bustle of a San Miguel weekend soon took over the venue intended for the concert, right in front of the unmistakable Parish.
The concert activities began with Arial, whose electro-pop sound sparked an emotional applause from the audience. The group formed by members of Hello Seahorse! and Costa Felina broke the silence with their single Una Vez Más, in addition to singing songs from their next album. They were followed by the Monterrey-based band Quiero Club, showing that their ten-year career has resulted in a large number of fans. This musical session ended splendidly, as an endearing preview of GIFF’s opening night in San Miguel de Allende, a party that every year becomes memorable and makes movie lovers raise their voices to shout More Cinema Please!
