Japan concert
GTO Thursday 28 18:00 hrs Alhóndiga
On its first day in Guanajuato City, the Music + Cinema program is proud to announce an amazing concert that will feature music from two loca Mexican projects and one from Japan. GIFF invites you to enjoy this afternoon of concerts that precede the screening of We Are X and Yoshiki’s concert.
With a strident dynamic sound that leans on Progressive rock and electronic music, Sierra León, a band originally from Tepic, want to show the audience from Guanajuato why they were invited to play last year at the Meet in Beijing Festival in China. The concert will continue with Descartes a Kant, one of the most important bands in the Mexican musical scene who have opened for bands like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Sonic Youth and Explosions in the Sky, playing in festivals such as Vive Latino, Indio Emergente, Maquinaria Fest, SXSW and Rock al Parque. Finally the Japanese band Tokyo Brass Style, made up of ten girls who have become quite the sensation by bringing classical music and anime melodies to life using wind-metal instruments and rhythms that range from funkto swing, making pit stops at ska and latin jazz.
