The activity of GIFF’s Music + Cinema, which for five days presented concerts and screened films in San Miguel de Allende, arrives in Guanajuato to continue celebrating 20 years of cinema and spark up the excitement of music lovers. This Thursday at 20:00 hrs., GIFF will take the Alhóndiga to offer up an unforgettable night, with the presence of one of the most widely seen musical talents in Mexico’s electronic music scene and one of today’s most consolidated rock bands, in addition to the presentation of one of the most ambitious audiovisual productions on music in recent years.
The person in charge starting the night off will be Andre VII, Dj and musical producer that incorporates Spanish lyrics to the sounds of techno and house. Best known for his project The Wookies, in addition to being part of The Perfect Ten, Vice Fever and Golden Dead Boyz. The member of sicario.tv and founder of Platinum, a lover of acid house and innovation, will make everyone dance with his music filled with energy.
He will be followed by a screening of Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World, a revealing documentary that brings to light the deep influence of the indigenous peoples on the popular music scene in North America. Focusing on icons such as Jimi Hendrix, Iggy Pop, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Charley Patton, Mildred Bailey and many others, showing us how these Native American pioneers helped shape the soundtracks of our lives.
Finally, the screening will be followed by The Dears, a Canadian group that emerges from the indie revival scene, consolidating its pop noir orchestral sound with the famous debut album End of a Hollywood Bedtime story in 2000 and releasing the EP Pop Noir Romantique two years later, in addition to Protest and Nor The Dalhias. In 2003 they released their second album Nocities left and Gang of losers in 2006.
