This project results from a collaboration between La Résidence de Cannes and the training work carried out by GIFF, as a space for cultural exchange between the new promises of international cinema.

La Cinéfondation by Cannes annually selects a dozen filmmakers (six from October to February and six from February to July), who are developing their first feature films to make a creative residence and work on their new film project. Every year during the summer, the Guanajuato International Film Festival opens its doors to the residents of La Cinéfondation, to give them more spaces and platforms to continue working during the session. In addition, GIFF invites two emerging Mexican directors to join this international group by offering them this platform to boost their careers.

MexiCannes offers this meeting space with producers, distributors and institutions of the international film industry in order to support them to fulfill their production objectives, as well as giving private talks with honorees and renowned figures of world cinema as it has been with Fatih Akin, Briggite Broch, Stephen Goldblatt, Spike Lee, Danny Boyle, Darren Aronofsky and Alejandro González Iñárritu, to name a few.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_custom_heading text=”Cinéfondation Residents” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23dd3333″ google_fonts=”font_family:Raleway%3A100%2C200%2C300%2Cregular%2C500%2C600%2C700%2C800%2C900|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]
