In San Miguel Allende, the festival will take place on July 22-26 and in Guanajuato City on July 27-31.

How much does it cost to attend a festival screening?
Except for private events and the Tunnel Fest, all festival activities are free of charge and no ticket is required.

If there are no tickets, how can I be sure I’ll be able to enter a festival screening?
We recommend you arrive at least 15 minutes before every screening to guarantee a spot.

No, if you’ve uploaded a screener, that’s enough. No DVDs required.

Can i send my film through wetransfer or other download services?
No, we require for you to send your film in a digital format on one of the platforms indicated in the festival guidelines.

Do I need to register my film in all three platforms (withoutabox, eventival y festhome)?
No, you only need to register in one of the above mentioned platforms.

If I’d rather mail my DVDs rather than upload my film to one of the platforms, is it still necessary to register online?
The online registration is required even if you’re sending us your DVDs, so we can have your data and that of your film.

If I’m from Mexico, do I need to register my film in one of the GIFF platforms?
The online registration is always required, so we can have your data and that of your film.

If I’m from Mexico, do I have to pay a registration fee?
Registration is free for Mexican filmmakers.

Is it necessary to send a press kit from the moment I register or only if my film is selected?
Yes, the press kit is mandatory from the momento you register.

Can I submit a film to GIFF if I’m underage?
Yes, of course you can.

Can I submit a film to GIFF if it’s already been shown in another festival?
Yes, you can register your film if it was produced during the year or the year before the festival edition you want to participate in. For this edition, films that were produced in either 2015 or 2016 can participate.

When will I know if my film was selected?
If your film was selected, we will let you know during the first few days of June.

What can I do if I want to participate in the National Screenwriting Competition, but haven’t received my Indautor certificate?
If you don’t have your Indautor certificate, you can upload a document that proves that it’s currently being processed.

Can I turn in my screenplay shortly after the deadline?
No, the deadline must be met without exceptions.

If I mailed my screenplay through the postal service before the deadline, but it arrives after the deadline, will it still be considered for the competition?
Your screenplay will be considered if the date on the postage stamp is before the deadline.
