The Identity and Belonging Documentary Contest, designed and founded by GIFF in 2010, is one of the training programs with greatest scope and commitment in the cinematographic and sociocultural field in Mexico. This program reconstructs the memory and oral history of Guanajuato through the perception of hundreds of young students, who over a decade have navigated their cultural contexts with the language of documentary.

*Mateo Pazzi has a degree in Communication Sciences. He worked for three years at UNESCO —based in Paris, France— in its translation and publishing department. Since 2013 he collaborates in the publishing area of Guanajuato International Film Festival. In 2018 he served as director of the Identity and Belonging Documentary Contest.
