BONFIRES
Time: 17:00
Location: Teatro Principal
By: Juan Ramón Velázquez
Violent conflicts are a permanent danger in any location with human beings. The political-religious problem in Northern Ireland is deeply grounded in the region’s history and is one of the themes of this documentary. The protestant people of Northern Ireland light bonfires every July 11 to commemorate William de Orange at the Battle of the Boyne. They consider it a sign of identity affirmation, but the Catholics find it arrogant and humiliating.
