Night was just falling in Guanajuato when the glamour, the elegance and the luminaries were present at the Red Carpet of this year’s Spotlight Country: Lebanon, before the screening of “The Insult” at the Juárez Theater.
Once again, the charisma of Christian De La Luz lit up the Red Carpet. He received the guests during their trip down the Red Carpet. This time, the first one out was Atala Sarmiento, who praised the Collegiate Rally as a harbinger of new talent. She mentions how much she loves cinema.
She was followed by Mauricio Garza, who was happy to support the young filmmakers who were participating in the Rally. Up next was Jorge Aranda, who alluded to GIFF’s slogan: ¡Más cine por favor!
Minutes later, the Red Carpet turned into a real runway, making way for beautiful models with spectacular and exclusive designs from Project Glamour, a coming together of Mexican designers through fashion and film.
Afterwards, the radiant Esmeralda Pimentel walked once again and she expressed her joy in the fusion of these two cultures. As the night went on, industry personalities like Verónica Langer, who is part of the Jury in this edition,, Sofía de Llaca, Israel Amescua, Brenda de Arrigunaga, Simona Sedlakova, Pilar Pellicer, recipient of the MUSA from the Women in Film and Television Association, with her daughter, among others, walked through the carpet.
Near the end, the hosts of the event,, María José Magán and Fernando Álvarez, both expressed being happy to be there. The presence of recognized actor and this year’s national tributee Damián Alcázar was highlighted and met with a standing ovation from those present.
Closing out the gala in a moving manner, the night’s main event walked the carpet: the Lebanese community in Mexico, with GIFF executive director Sarah Hoch. The Lebanese Center in MExico was present, as was the Lebanese Ambassador in Mexico, Sami Nmeir and his family among other special guests. A singer from that country began to sing and the audience applauded. The ambassador gave a moving speech regarding the 75th Anniversary of Lebanon’s Independence, pointing out that Lebanon was the last country in the Middle East to gain independence.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
