GIFF will take the compounds, streets and tunnels of Guanajuato to dress them in world cinema.
After a successful stop at San Miguel de Allende, the Guanajuato International Film Festival arrives at the state’s capital to keep celebrating the best of cinema. At 20:30 hrs, we invite you to attend our Red Carpet before the Inauguration Ceremony at the Juárez Theater.
As it has for 21 years, GIFF presents in Guanajuato City a notable official selection that includes feature films and short films of great quality in sections such as documentary, experimental cinema, animation and fiction. We will also have special screenings such as Kids in Action, Midnight Madness (for people over 18) and a celebration of the 50th Anniversary of 1968, which shook the conscience of the entire world.
You can also attend concerts at the esplanade of the Alhóndiga de Granaditas as part of our Music + Films section, along with documentaries on the subject. The fun will top off at the Diego Rivera Tunnel for the Tunnel Fest on Saturday July 28.
At the Santa Paula cemetery, as is tradition, there will be a selection of short films and feature films that will delight horror cinema fans in out Movies with Mummy program.
