Al mismo tiempo procura reunir a los profesionales de la industria y a los que desean ingresar a este grupo de creadores para provocar el encuentro y la uni\u00f3n de fuerzas en un entorno abierto, accesible y competitivo.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>LA XXVII EDICI\u00d3N DEL FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE CINE GUANAJUATO <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">se\u00a0 celebrar\u00e1 del <\/span><b>19 al 28 de julio 2024.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>CATEGOR\u00cdAS EN COMPETENCIA<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>CORTOMETRAJES <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(duraci\u00f3n m\u00e1xima de 30 min. incluyendo cr\u00e9ditos) en formato de cine, video o digital, cuya fecha de cumplir producci\u00f3n sea posterior al 1 de enero del 2023 podr\u00e1n participar en las siguientes categor\u00edas: FICCI\u00d3N, EXPERIMENTAL, ANIMACI\u00d3N, DOCUMENTAL, REALIDAD VIRTUAL, M\u00c9XICO y GUANAJUATO (para producciones locales).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>LARGOMETRAJES <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(con duraci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s de 30 min.) en formato de cine, video o digital, que no hayan concretado distribuci\u00f3n en las salas cinematogr\u00e1ficas del pa\u00eds y cuya fecha de cumplir producci\u00f3n sea posterior al 1 de enero del 2023, podr\u00e1n competir en las siguientes categor\u00edas: LARGOMETRAJE DOCUMENTAL INTERNACIONAL, LARGOMETRAJE DOCUMENTAL M\u00c9XICO, LARGOMETRAJE DE FICCI\u00d3N INTERNACIONAL, LARGOMETRAJE DE FICCI\u00d3N M\u00c9XICO.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>EXHIBICI\u00d3N. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La Direcci\u00f3n del Festival acordar\u00e1 el orden y la fecha de exhibici\u00f3n de cada trabajo.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Los trabajos inscritos podr\u00e1n ser seleccionados para muestras fuera de competencia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>CONDICIONES<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Para ser consideradas, las pel\u00edculas tienen que registrarse a trav\u00e9s del formato de inscripci\u00f3n disponible en FilmFreeway.com. Las inscripciones deben ser acompa\u00f1adas de copias de visionado digitales (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">screeners<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El registro no tiene ning\u00fan costo para realizadores mexicanos. Para trabajos provenientes de otros pa\u00edses el costo ser\u00e1 de $25 d\u00f3lares, los cuales ser\u00e1n depositados por medio de FilmFreeway.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No existe l\u00edmite de inscripci\u00f3n para el n\u00famero de pel\u00edculas por realizador ni por entidad productora.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No se aceptan videoclips, ni trabajos comerciales o con fines de propaganda pol\u00edtica. En la categor\u00eda de Realidad Virtual tampoco se acepta gaming, realidad aumentada ni experiencias no- narrativas.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Para ser admitidos, los materiales deber\u00e1n presentarse en idioma espa\u00f1ol, ingl\u00e9s o subtitulado en cualquiera de los dos idiomas.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Los proyectos de Realidad Virtual (VR) deben ser reproducibles en Meta Quest 2 o 3 o HTC Vive. Para su evaluaci\u00f3n el screener deber\u00e1 ser enviado posterior al registro en filmfreeway en un link a un archivo descargable de video 360\u00ba (.mp4) o build .exe \u00f3 .apk al email: epicentro@guanajuatofilmfestival.com<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Es requisito para la inscripci\u00f3n enviar un \u201cpress kit\u201d electr\u00f3nico a trav\u00e9s de FilmFreeway o bien por correo electr\u00f3nico a <\/span><a href=\"mailto:presskit@guanajuatofilmfestival.com\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">presskit@guanajuatofilmfestival.com,<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> incluyendo los siguientes materiales: foto fija del trabajo (en formato jpg o tif a 300 dpi); sinopsis de la obra (ingl\u00e9s y espa\u00f1ol); breve biograf\u00eda del director (ingl\u00e9s y espa\u00f1ol); fotograf\u00eda del director (en formato jpg o tif a 300 dpi); ficha t\u00e9cnica con lista de cr\u00e9ditos.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La fecha l\u00edmite de inscripci\u00f3n y env\u00edo de materiales es el 1\u00ba de Abril, 2024.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Una vez enviada a la convocatoria, la pel\u00edcula no podr\u00e1 ser retirada.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En ning\u00fan caso se pagar\u00e1 por los derechos de exhibici\u00f3n de un trabajo.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Las pel\u00edculas seleccionadas son elegibles para formar parte de las muestras itinerantes nacionales e internacionales del festival.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>SELECCI\u00d3N Y JURADO. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La selecci\u00f3n de los trabajos ser\u00e1 competencia del festival por el equipo de programaci\u00f3n y miembros de los jurados de preselecci\u00f3n. La selecci\u00f3n ser\u00e1 inapelable.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>PREMIOS. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A los ganadores se entregar\u00e1n premios y reconocimientos en cada categor\u00eda competitiva. Cada reconocimiento ser\u00e1 decisi\u00f3n de un jurado internacional formado por profesionales del medio cinematogr\u00e1fico, cuyos nombres ser\u00e1n dados a conocer oportunamente. Las decisiones de los jurados ser\u00e1n inapelables. Los premios pueden incluir trofeos, dinero o equipo y servicios en especie otorgados por nuestros patrocinadores, por ejemplo, servicios de postproducci\u00f3n, equipo cinematogr\u00e1fico, etc\u00e9tera.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>CALIFICACI\u00d3N PARA LOS PREMIOS DE LA ACADEMIA. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Los cortometrajes ganadores en las categor\u00edas de Cortometraje Ficci\u00f3n, Cortometraje Animaci\u00f3n y Cortometraje Documental podr\u00e1n ser considerados para la nominaci\u00f3n a los premios de la Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematogr\u00e1ficas de los Estados Unidos (Academy Awards\u00ae), siempre y cuando cumplan con los dem\u00e1s requerimientos de la academia. At the same time, we intend to bring together newcomers alongside the industry\u2019s most seasoned professionals, to join forces in a very open, accessible and competitive environment.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b> EVENT DATES. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>XXVII edition<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the <\/span><b>Guanajuato International Film Festival\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will be celebrated from <\/span><b>July 19 \u2013 28, 2024<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b> CATEGORIES OF COMPETITION.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The following categories of competition have been established:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Shorts<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (up to 30 minutes including credits) filmed in any film, video or digital format completed after January 1st, 2023 are eligible to compete in the following categories: INTERNATIONAL FICTION, MEXICAN FICTION, INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY, MEXICAN DOCUMENTARY, EXPERIMENTAL, ANIMATION, VIRTUAL REALITY and GUANAJUATO (for local productions).<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Features<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (over 30 minutes), filmed in any film, video or digital format, completed after January 1st, 2023, and that have not yet acquired distribution in commercial theaters within Mexico are eligible to compete in the following categories: INTERNATIONAL FEATURE FILM FICTION, MEXICAN FEATURE FILM FICTION, INTERNATIONAL FEATURE DOCUMENTARY, MEXICAN FEATURE DOCUMENTARY.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b> EXHIBITION.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Festival shall determine the order and date of exhibition of each work. Submissions may also be invited to participate in out-of-competition programs.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b> CONDITIONS.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Films must be submitted through the official registration form available on FilmFreeway.com. Secure online screeners should be submitted with the application.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Registration cost is 25 USD per film for international productions, payable through the registration platform. Registration is free of cost for Mexican filmmakers.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is no limit to the amount of films that a filmmaker or producer may register.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Music videos, commercial work, and political propaganda are not accepted. In the VR category,\u00a0gaming, augmented reality and non-narrative experiences are not eligible.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In order to be considered, the materials must be presented in Spanish, English, or with subtitles in either of these two languages.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Virtual Reality (VR) projects must be playable on Meta Quest 2 or 3 or HTC Vive. For evaluation purposes, the screener should be submitted after registering on FilmFreeway, through a link to a downloadable 360\u00ba video file (.mp4) or a .exe or .apk build to the email: epicentro@guanajuatofilmfestival.com<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When submitting your film, it is mandatory to include an Electronic Press Kit (EPK) either through FilmFreeway.com or emailed to <\/span><a href=\"mailto:presskit@guanajuatofilmfestival.com\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">presskit@guanajuatofilmfestival.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> including: at least one still photo from the film (in jpg or tif format at 300 dpi); a synopsis of the film in Spanish, English, or both if available; a brief biography of the director in Spanish, English, or both if available; director\u2019s photograph (in jpg or tif format at 300 dpi); film credits.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>deadline<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for registration and delivery of materials is <\/span><b>April 1, 2024.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once a film has been submitted for participation it cannot be withdrawn.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The festival does not pay screening fees.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Selected films may form part of the festival\u2019s travelling showcases, participating around the world.<\/span><b><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b> SELECTION AND JURIES.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The selection will be carried out by the festival organization\u2019s programming team, including its pre-screening juries. The selection decisions are final and cannot be appealed.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b> AWARDS.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The festival organization will present each participant in competition with a certificate of selection. Additionally, prizes and recognitions will be awarded to films in each competitive category. Each distinction will be decided by an international jury, made up of film industry professionals whose names shall be announced shortly before the festival. The jury\u2019s decision is final and cannot be appealed.
