{"id":22770,"date":"2019-07-21T15:23:38","date_gmt":"2019-07-21T15:23:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/giff.mx\/?p=22770"},"modified":"2019-07-21T15:23:38","modified_gmt":"2019-07-21T15:23:38","slug":"yalitza-aparicio-fights-violence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/giff.mx\/en\/yalitza-aparicio-fights-violence\/","title":{"rendered":"YALITZA APARICIO FIGHTS VIOLENCE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Mexican actress served as the spokeswoman for Zero Violence Against Women.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yesterday at 11:00 am, at the Angela Peralta Theater before a large audience and representative authorities of the State of Guanajuato and the region, the presentation for the &#8220;Zero violence against women&#8221; campaign, with Oscar-nominated actress Yalitza Aparicio as spokesperson, took place.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This campaign, promoted by the Guanajuato International Film Festival, in collaboration with the Guanajuato\u2019s State Department of Health, seeks to proactively engage in the fight against gender violence, preventing it, making it visible and guaranteeing rights for women who suffer violence or are at risk.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the presentation, GIFF\u2019s director and founder Sarah Hoch pointed out the importance of working together and thanked the partnership built between GIFF and the Ministry of Health toward such an important cause. Among other things, she talked about the role that social networks have played in recent years in favor of the visibility of gender inequality and violence in Mexico and the world, and talked about its importance, in addition to making the problem visible and following up on reports.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Subsequently, Dr. Daniel D\u00edaz, Secretary of Health of the State of Guanajuato, officially presented the campaign and drew attention to the 625 units in the state of Guanajuato responsible for ensuring psychological care for victims of violence, in addition to 27 specialized centers, which make up the largest health network in the country and have a \u201czero rejection\u201d policy, which guarantees immediate and comprehensive attention to all people, without distinction of any kind.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ms. Rosa Elda Villalobos Ugalde, director of Mental Health, also talked about how necessary it is to prevent all types of violence and educate children within schemes that allow us to have a more egalitarian society. In addition, she announced the Ministry of Health\u2019s implementation of a \u201cSpace free from violence\u201d at GIFF, located at the \u201cEl Nigromante\u201d Cultural Center, where specialized attention will be offered to women and men on family, sexual and \/ or gender violence, in private.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yalitza Aparicio, official spokeswoman for the campaign, shared some words about the need for women to know their rights in order to guarantee lives free from violence. In addition, she shared her own experience and efforts to carry a message that can carry on the dialogue on gender equality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the Q&amp;A session, Yalitza answered the concerns of her followers about her experiences and how important it has been for her to preserve and exercise the values she learned from her family to face new challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thus, the Guanajuato International Film Festival consolidates twelve years of fighting gender violence and adds efforts once again in favor of women&#8217;s empowerment and solidarity between women and men that may positively influence our society.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Mexican actress served as the spokeswoman for Zero Violence Against Women.
