This Saturday, GIFF will provide three films for all tastes at Cinemex Pozuelos.<\/span><\/p>\n

First off, at 12:00 hrs, we have the animated film <\/span>The Prophet<\/span><\/i>. Set in Lebanon during the Ottoman Empire, <\/span>The Prophet <\/span><\/i>tells the story of Kamila, who works as a housekeeper for Mustafa, a poet, painter and activist under house arrest. Almitra, Kamila\u2019s daughter, stops talking due to her father\u2019s death and she becomes disruptive, stealing frequently from local merchants.<\/span><\/p>\n

Then, at 17:00 hrs, a modern Mexican cinema classic will be screened as part of the Special Showing dedicated to Lebanon, our Spotlight Country. This film is <\/span>El Callej\u00f3n de los Milagros<\/span><\/i>, directed by Jorge Fons and based on the novel of the same name by Naguib Mahfuz. In the center of Mexico City, 50-year-old Don Ru, owner of the neighborhood cantine, discovers strange new feelings in his life. Young hairdresser Abel and antiquarian Don Fidel are both in love with Alma, the beautiful daughter of Do\u00f1a Cata, a card castor, while Susanita looks for love in young Chava and G\u00fcicho, the cynical cantine employee.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
