[vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]This section that runs parallel to the Cannes Film Festival celebrates its 49th edition. Created in May of 1968 by the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 des R\u00e9alisateurs de Films, the Quinzaine seeks to discover new talents in world cinema. The feature debuts of directors such as George Lucas and Martin Scorsese were discovered in this competition. <\/span><\/p>\n

This year we are excited to find friends of GIFF among the selected filmmakers. In 2014 Niki Lindroth von Bahr was part of the Animated Short Film Official Selection with \u201cBath House\u201d, this year she is part of the Quinzaine des R\u00e9alisateurs with her stop mption short \u201cMin B\u00f6rda\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chlo\u00e9 Zhao’s 2015 film “Songs My Brothers Taught Me” was a part of GIFF’s 2015 Official Selection. She was selected for the Quinzaine des R\u00e9alisateurs with her second film “The Rider”.<\/span>
\nVladimir de Fontenay presented his short film \u201cMobile Homes\u201d at GIFF 2013, which preceded his feature-length film of the same name which was selected for this year’s Quinzaine des R\u00e9alisateurs.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_video link=”https:\/\/vimeo.com\/207466220″][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
