On the one hand, the eighth 48-Hour Collegiate Rally will kick off on Wednesday the 27th at 13:00 hrs from the steps of the Ju\u00e1rez Theater; after 48 hours of shooting and editing, the Rally projects will be screened on Friday the 29th at 21:00 hrs at the Alh\u00f3ndiga de Granaditas. We also have the screening of the Identity and Belonging University Documentary Competition, which will take place on Wednesday the 27th at 11:00 hrs at the Auditorium of the University of Guanajuato.<\/p>\n
The 48-hour Collegiate Rally seeks to promote the development of new talents and encourage the enthusiasm of young filmmakers to create innovative and fresh projects within the industry. Chosen from 186 screenplays received from 23 states of the Republic, the six finalists undertake the adventure of making a short film within 48 hours. The six projects chosen for this edition are: How was your day today?<\/em> by the Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Nayarit; Coin Toss<\/em> by UEA Centro Universitario; What comes to mind<\/em> by CUEC-UNAM; The Terrier Family<\/em> by the Liceo de Estudios Superiores de Quer\u00e9taro; Six<\/em> by the Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Coahuila; and Welcome Brother<\/em> by the Universidad de Guanajuato.<\/p>\n The main objective of the Identity and Belonging University Documentary Competition is to promote a sense of identity with and connection to Guanajuato\u2014a region filled with tradition\u2014among the younger generation. The contestants are asked to produce a documentary that illustrates their interests, concerns and expectations with respect to their surroundings, their family life and their day-to-day lives, which are ultimately stories of their own. Through the process of creating personal, professional and universal projects, they build a bond with their community, and by shedding light on the issues addressed, they can come up with solutions.
