{"id":22125,"date":"2019-07-07T23:17:12","date_gmt":"2019-07-07T23:17:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/giff.mx\/?page_id=22125"},"modified":"2019-07-08T02:14:53","modified_gmt":"2019-07-08T02:14:53","slug":"woman-in-film-television","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/giff.mx\/en\/woman-in-film-television\/","title":{"rendered":"WOMAN IN FILM &#038; TELEVISION"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aiming to promote the achievements of women who have worked in all areas of film, television and other audiovisual media, the Women in Film and Television Association is honored once more to pay tribute to two great women during the 2019 edition of the Guanajuato International Film Festival.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seeking to acknowledge the creative and working contributions from women in the audiovisual industry \u2014offering a gender perspective to the analysis and reflection surrounding creative processes and production\u2014, on this occasion, Women in Film and Television will bestow the MUSA (a statue created by sculptor Elena Somonte) upon actress Queta Lavat, and upon Lupita Ram\u00edrez, who has been cutting and restoring film negatives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Queta Lavat, a legendary actress from the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema, has starred in more than a hundred movies alongside great directors and actors. These include Emilio Fern\u00e1ndez, Ismael Rodr\u00edguez, Juan Bustillo Oro, Miguel Zacar\u00edas, Ismael Rodr\u00edguez, Jorge Negrete, Pedro Infante, Sara Garc\u00eda and Silvia Pinal. She\u2019s also had a long and varied career in theater and television, starring in more than 40 soap operas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For her part, Lupita Ram\u00edrez, who has been cutting and restoring old film negatives since the 1970\u2019s, has dedicated her life to this profession. She describes \u201ccutting negatives\u201d as \u201cassembling images of different sizes that can be short, long or little and that proceed in quick succession, one after the other to create a fluid and logical story or idea\u201d. Thus, she has participated in assembling the negatives for films such as Alfonso Cuar\u00f3n\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">S\u00f3lo con tu pareja<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">; Alejandro Gonz\u00e1lez I\u00f1\u00e1rritu\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Amores Perros<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">; and Francisco Vargas\u2019 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El Viol\u00edn<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
