         Technique created and taught by Natalia Lazarus, based on psychological theories, that provides practical tools to understanding the different personality types, in order to direct the actor to create memorable characters and versatile performances.

         It also provides the director better ways of interacting and negotiating with the various personalities of his productions (producer, writer, actors, etc …) to achieve their goals in a more efficient and timely manner.

         This course focuses on behavior, communication, point of view and occupations of the four personality types:

  1. Emotional and communicative
  2. Organized and disciplined
  3. Risk taker and creative
  4. Analytical and logical

Development

The course uses practical exercises, PowerPoint presentations, ejamples of the characters with movie clips and text.

Schedule: Thursday 23rd, Friday 24rd and Saturday 25th July 2015

                        15:00 to 18:00 hours

Capacity: 15 students per class

Cost: Free

Addressed to: Students or graduates: film, communication, television, visual arts or performance.

Natalia Lazarus

foto-natalia-directoraArtistic Director, Natalia Lazarus is at the helm of the Los Angeles Performing Arts Conservatory (LAPAC) & its subsidiaries: LAPAC an accredited Acting School, 3rd Street Comedy, The Promenade Players Theatre Company, The Confluence Art Gallery, & the Creative Keys to Success Series, the Acting, Writing, Directing & Personal Growth technique that she created and developed. In addition, Ms. Lazarus is also a private and international coach for Hollywood celebrities on sets (most notably Ken Jeong of The Hangover, Community & Knocked Up; Teresa Ruiz from Border Town with Jennifer Lopez & winner of the Cannes Camera d’Or 2010); and in institutions throughout the world, like Bridge Media, The International School of Cinema of Paris, the Guanajuato Film Festival, Casa Azul in Mexico City, River Hollywood Training School in Tokyo Japan, Instituto Stanislavsky in Sao Paolo, Brazil, and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists in Los Angeles to name a few… Ms. Lazarus is a graduate of the Sorbonne University in Paris, France, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City, the Film Program at New York University; with adjacent studies at the University of London, The British Film Institute and the Ned Herrmann Brain Dominance Center. She is Syd Field’s “docent” & one of the few in the world authorized to teach his screenwriting technique. Her written works include: Screenplays: Getting Even, Norma Beckman’s Return (Hollywood Film Festival winner), Voices of the Drina, based on the Bosnian War, Ripened on the Vine, adapted from the book of the same title, A Life Interrupted, currently in post-production and recently hired by Omega Films in France to pen The Picasso – Rubens Enigma. Plays: her One Woman Show, Birthday Girl (selection at the Edinburgh Int’l Theatre Festival in Scotland), Programs and Books: the entire curriculum of the LAPAC’s three-year degree, The Actor’s Key, The Screen Star Key, The Screen Icon Key, The Pathology Key, The Director’s Key and The Screenwriter’s Key. LOGO BLANCO Y NEGRO JPGThe mission of the Los Angeles Performing Arts Conservatory (LAPAC) is to provide a nurturing environment in which the artist is able to create, explore, and develop a truer confidence, filled with spontaneity, emotional depth, and abundant imagination. We work to unite Latin American, European, and American artists to produce original and established stage plays, films, art shows, and educational programs that are challenging, thought provoking and entertaining; by spreading knowledge in acting, writing and directing. We have built outreach programs in Honduras, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, Italy and France.

Founded in 1996, the LAPAC produces 3-4 mainstage productions that range from new classics like, The Laramie Project, to Nobel Prize winner, Gao Xingjian’s Between Life and Death, along with 3 art shows that support over 250 local, national and international artists. Natalia Lazarus, has lead the organization for the past 7 years, as Artistic Director, and 7 years prior to that as Director of Programming.
