Vancouver Film School (VFS), una de las más distinguidas instituciones de arte del entretenimiento a nivel mundial, ofrecerá un taller de Guionismo para cortometraje en asociación con el Festival Internacional de Cine de Guanajuato del año en curso.
Los participantes del festival están invitados a inscribir sus guiones con las siguientes características:
-Máximo 8 cuartillas de extensión.
-Redactados en inglés.
-Limitados a tres locaciones o menos.
-Máximo siete personajes con diálogo.
-La historia deberá estar centrada en los personajes (por favor evitar los efectos especiales o escenas peligrosas).
De todos los guiones presentados, 12 escritores serán seleccionados para participar en el taller impartido por el director del programa de Guionismo para Cine y Televisión de VFS, Michael Baser (Three’s Company, Full House), acompañado por un instructor Senior de VFS. Los participantes experimentarán un taller riguroso e ilustrativo, similar a los que tienen lugar en el programa de un año de VFS.
Además de este taller que se lleva a cabo en el marco del Festival Internacional de Cine de Guanajuato (del 30 de julio al 03 de agosto), VFS también ofrecerá a los participantes la oportunidad de ganar una de dos becas parciales para el programa de un año de Guionismo para Cine y Televisión.

VFS incluyen a Terri Tatchell, nominado al Oscar por Distrito 9 y a Seth Lochhead, el guionista detrás de Hanna.
Se abre la inscripción a partir del Lunes 2 de junio de 2014 y se cierra a las 11:59 pm del 01 de julio de 2014. Los guiones deberán ser enviados por correo electrónico a eventsmx@vfs.com y a industria@guanajuatofilmfestival.com para ser considerados.
Los asistentes al taller deberán cubrir sus propios gastos de transportación, hospedaje y alimentación.

Vancouver Film School (VFS), one of the most distinguished entertainment arts institutions in the world, will be offering a short film writing workshop in association with this year’s Guanajuato International Film Festival.
Festival participants are invited to submit short scripts that conform to the following guidelines:
- 1. No more than eight pages in length
- 2. Written in English
- 3. Limited to three locations or fewer
- 4. No more than seven speaking characters
- 5. Character-driven storyline (please avoid special effects, stunts, and explosions)
From the submitted scripts, 12 applicants will be selected to participate in workshops led by VFS’s Head of Writing for Film & Television, Michael Baser (Three’s Company, Full House), and a VFS Senior Writing Instructor. Participants will be guided through a rigorous and enlightening workshop, similar to those taking place throughout a year at VFS. In addition to these workshops held during the Guanajuato International Film Festival (July 30-Aug 3), VFS will also be offering festival participants a chance to win one of two partial scholarships to attend the one-year Writing for Film & Television program.

Registration opens Monday, June 2nd, 2014 and closes July 1st, 2014 at 11:59 pm. Applicants are required to submit their scripts via email to eventsmx@vfs.com with a copy to industria@guanajuatofilmfestival.com. Selected participants are responsible for the costs of attending the workshop, including transportation, lodging, and food expenses.
