A Special Acting Workshop

The Guanajuato International Film Festival, in its nineteenth edition, called on actors and representatives of the artistic scene to participate in a Special Workshop with actor Demián Bichir, one of the leading examples of the Mexican acting scene, representative of a fighting spirit and a conscience in the art of representation. The processes of acting reflection and its many roads and questions will be discussed as a main concern for an artist. This will be an ideal opportunity to share his experiences and the many stages he has visited all over the world with 25 participants in a space of 4 hours.
The purpose of this encounter is to discuss the conditions of dramatic acting: technique, languange and the profound gamut of possibilities. Be it through his own voice, body expression or the exercise of becoming a character, this space will bring up valuable material for the participants; from a gesture to the art of standing still, the tone of the actor, the enigma of mimesis, catharsis and embodying the word, to personification, process of stimulation and the ins and outs of the film, television and theater industries.
This Special Acting Workshop announces the presence of a celebrity with an exemplary career; someone who exemplifies the thematic and aesthetic characteristics of being an artist, as well as the formal concerns hat permeate in this passionate profession. From overwhelmed emotion to a fine conception of a scene, Demián Bichir will share his career paying special attention to the details of a generation committed to the process of acting.
